MCA LOKICHAR WARD HON CPA LOMODO SAMUEL HAS DEMANDED FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF TURKANA SOUTH MP HON ARIKO NAMOIT

In his statement It is with deep concern and unwavering conviction that he address the recent arrest of the Turkana South legislator. This troubling event has starkly exposed the lingering shadows of political witch hunts within our beloved county. Such actions, orchestrated by Politicians in Turkana County are not only unethical but a blatant abuse of power aimed at silencing dissenting voices.
The arrest of the legislator is a direct affront to democratic principles, which uphold the right of elected officials to advocate for their constituents without fear of persecution. It is disheartening to witness fellow leaders being targeted for standing up against injustices and advocating for the people they represent.
This kind of political maneuvering undermines the very fabric of our democracy and sets a dangerous precedent that can erode public trust in our institutional frameworks. It is crucial to remember that elected officials, regardless of political affiliation, have a duty to serve their constituents, and silencing them through intimidation or manipulation is unacceptable.

Hon CPA Lomodo Samuel urge the Turkana County Leadership to reconsider these malicious tactics and to focus on unifying our county rather than creating division and fear. The people of Turkana deserve stable leadership comprised of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

He also urge leaders to work together to foster an environment where political discourse can thrive and where all voices can be heard without the threat of reprisal. I call upon all stakeholders, including the civil society and the judiciary, to ensure that the rights of our legislators are upheld and that justice is served.

He also assured to stand firmly in solidarity with the Turkana South legislator, and I condemn this arrest as a political ploy. Together, we must promote a culture of respect for political diversity and reaffirm our collective commitment to the values of democracy.
